Elizabeth Lake Estates is a subdivision of 320 homes located in the Fox Hill area of Hampton, VA. Development of the neighborhood spanned 21 years; started in 1962, the last home was finished in 1983. We are a "covenant community" and have a board of directors made up of resident volunteers to assure the continued high standards and livability of the neighborhood.
Family-Friendly
The neighborhood is very family-friendly, with large commons areas used by young and old alike. We have our own pool for use by members. "The pool" is actually made up of two pools -- a 25 meter pool and a diving pool. During the summer months it is used extensively for both recreation and competition (the Elizabeth Lake Tideriders are the neighborhood's local swim team).
Waterfront Community
A large number of homes in the neighborhood are waterfront, as is a large section of our commons area, bordering either the Lake or the north end of the Hampton River. Many more homes have water views. The term "lake" is a bit of a misnomer, as it is open to the Hampton River and like the River, is tidal and navigable. Many of our residents enjoy boating and fishing in these waters, as do many other Hampton residents.
Schools, Athletics & Activities
For those with children, there are quite a few public and private schools close by, as well as a number of athletic and service organizations for part-time activities. We also have our own Garden Club and competitive swim team right here in the neighborhood itself.
