What is Neighborhood Watch?
Neighborhood Watch is simply a program, approved by the Hampton Police Department, of neighbors watching other neighbor's property during times when vandalism or burglaries are likely to occur.
A police officer patrolling your neighborhood may not recognize a stranger in your yard - but a neighbor would!
If you see something suspicious do this:
- Write down the description of the suspicious person(s), i.e., anyone you do not recognize who is loitering on the street, sits in a parked car (and does not seem to have a purpose) or does anything that seems to be suspicious to you.
- Write down the make, model, color and license number of strange vehicles.
- Call the Hampton Police Department (911) immediately. In addition, inform your Neighborhood Watch Block Coordinator.
- If you do not know who your Neighborhood Watch Block Coordinator is, look it up on the list below, write it down, and stick it along with the phone number on your refrigerator.
